We collect information you provide when creating an account: name, email address, and your role (school administrator, teacher, or parent). When you use Cortile, we also collect messages and content you share in class groups, event participation data, and basic usage analytics to improve the service. We do not collect sensitive information about students beyond what is necessary for the grade publishing feature, which is managed entirely by the school.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and maintain the Cortile service, send you notifications about messages, events and grades relevant to your class, improve the platform based on usage patterns, and communicate important updates about the service. We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Information Sharing

Your profile information (name) is visible to other members of your class group. Messages you send are visible to the members of the group you send them to. Grade information is only visible to the specific family it belongs to and the school staff. We do not share your personal information with third parties except when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Data is stored in the European Union. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, restrict processing of your data, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at stefan.barbarez@gmail.com.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the service to function (authentication, session management). We also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the service is used, but only if you consent through our cookie banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser storage and revisiting the site.

7. Children's Privacy

Cortile is designed for use by schools and parents. Children do not create accounts or use the platform directly. The grade information displayed is managed by schools and shared only with the corresponding family. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
